At least 10 persons died in the inferno, according to Channels Television.
The inferno, which was triggered by a spark from a car at the station, has already spread to surrounding buildings.
The gas plant is located on CMD Road, opposite Magodo Brooks Estate.
Operatives of the Lagos State Fire Service, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Federal Road Safety Corps and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are currently at the scene.
Bisi Kazeem, FRSC spokesman, has advised motorists to take alternative routes, saying the extent of damage is unknown at the moment. READ MORE
